4 lakh caught at SST check post during vehicle checking

RSD- Sircilla news: On 05.02.2026, at approximately 11:00 AM, vehicle checks were conducted at the SST checkpost near Thangallapalli Bridge in Siricilla Mandal, Rajanna Siricilla district, in the context of the ongoing municipal elections. During this check, a police team stopped and inspected a car bearing registration number TS 09 ER 7367. The car driver/owner, Purumadla Venkat Reddy, son of Narayana Reddy, a resident of Chandlapur village, Chinnakodur Mandal, was found to be carrying unaccounted and suspicious cash amounting to Rs. 4,00,000/- (Four Lakh Rupees) in his car. He stated that he was going to Siricilla. The cash amount was seized by the SST team in-charge, Srikanth, in the presence of witnesses (panchnama witnesses), as per election rules and legal procedures. Further inquiry/investigation is underway to ascertain the source and intended use of the cash. This was stated by Siricilla Town Inspector K. Krishna.
