RSD-Sircilla news: A cell phone recovery fair was organized at the district police office and 63 phones worth about Rs. 6 lakhs, which were lost or stolen in the district in the last few days, were recovered from various parts of our state as well as neighboring states and were handed over to the owners of the respective mobile phones on 25.02.2026  by the hands of the district SP. Speaking on this occasion, the SP said that nowadays, we cannot do even a small transaction without a mobile phone, and criminals who know that we save our valuable information like bank accounts and passwords on our mobile phones are stealing mobile phones, breaking weak passwords and making money through PhonePe, Google Pay and other means. People who lose their mobile phones lose not only their mobile phones but also their personal information along with money. He advised that if anyone loses or gets their mobile phone stolen, they should immediately block it on the CEIR portal ( https://www.ceir.gov.in ) and inform the concerned police station. He said that the people of the district are being informed that if anyone buys second hand mobile phones, they should definitely get a receipt from the owner of such a shop. He said that cell phone thieves are selling stolen phones in mobile shops and innocent people are being cheated by buying them without knowing that they are stolen phones at a low price. He said that if anyone buys a phone knowing that it is stolen, criminal cases will be registered against such people. The District SP congratulated the IT Cops SI Kiran Kumar and Constable Rajathirumalesh, who are working hard to recover the lost mobile phones in the district through the CEIR application and hand them over to the victims. The victims of the mobile phone thanked the District SP Mahesh B. Gite IPS, and the district police personnel for recovering the phone using technology. IT Cops SI Kiran Kumar, RI Yadagiri, and Constable Rajathirumalesh participated in this program.
