RSD-Sircilla news: Protest Demonstration in the District Headquarters on March 24th 2026, organized under the aegis of the Telangana Progressive Teachers Federation (TPTF), Rajanna Sircilla District Branch. TPTF Rajanna Sircilla District President, Dumala Ramanath Reddy, urged everyone to make the protest demonstration a success in order to achieve resolutions to these issues. TPTF Rajanna Sircilla District President, Dumala Ramanath Reddy, and District General Secretary, Vikkurthi Anjaiah, stated that the State Government, in the budget presented to the Assembly, allocated a meager amount to the education sector, thereby undermining its own declared educational objectives. Speaking on 23.03.2026 at a meeting of key activists of the Telangana Progressive Teachers Federation held at the Rajanna Sircilla district headquarters, they observed, “Out of the total state budget of Rs. 3,24,234 crores, only Rs. 26,674 crores have been allocated to the education sector. In the current budget, the allocation represents a mere 0.63% increase over last year’s figures, effectively reducing the overall share of the budget allocated to education to 8.23%. While grandly proclaiming an intent to radically transform the education system, the government has neglected the task of strengthening existing schools. Instead, amidst the backdrop of the Education Commission’s report and its proposals for ‘Integrated Schools’ and ‘Public Schools’ the decision to reduce budgetary allocations to the education sector at the grassroots level is highly reprehensible.” As a result of this budget, the education sector will deteriorate further, not only will this create a situation where the poor are unable to access quality education, but the school system already struggling with meager facilities will be pushed into an even more dire state. For decades, the Kothari Commission along with numerous educationists and teacher’s associations has demanded that 30% of the budget be allocated to the education sector in order to strengthen it. It is deplorable that the ruling party, having come to power on the promise made in its election manifesto to allocate 15% of the budget to education, has failed to even uphold its own word. It was observed that there is a stark disconnect between the Chief Minister’s rhetoric claiming to accord high priority to the education sector and the actual actions taken. It was further noted that, due to the negligence of the administration following the formation of Telangana State, the number of students enrolled in government schools has plummeted from 2.7 million in 2021–22 to just 1.6 million. It was emphasized that the development of key areas such as quality education, classroom construction, teacher recruitment, physical infrastructure, sanitation, computer facilities, libraries, and sports is entirely contingent upon the overall budget allocations. Citing the Telangana Education Commission report, which highlights the severe neglect faced by the education sector, the organization stated that in order to foster its development the government must allocate 20 percent of the funds in the current budget to the education sector. Furthermore, they demanded the lump sum release of pending pensionary benefit bills for retired teachers, as well as the immediate clearance of pending bills for serving teachers and the announcement of the Pay Revision Commission (PRC). In support of these demands, they announced that protest demonstrations would be organized under the aegis of the TPTF at the district headquarters on March 24th 2026. They issued a call for teachers and education enthusiasts to participate in large numbers. Participating in this event were District Vice President Nooguri Devender, District Secretary Chakinala Ramachandram, Vemulawada Mandal President Bojja Krishna, Rural President Srinivas, Chandurthi Mandal President Sanjeev, and Rudrangi Mandal President Balaraju.
