RSD- Kodada news: In Kodada sub-division, the police personnel were alerted and kept vigil on the theft of motors and motor cores (coffer wire) installed by farmers on wells, streams, ponds, for agricultural water needs. As part of the investigation of the cases, on 26/8/24, Garidepally police were driving vehicles at Pareddygudem stage on Kalmalacheruvu road within Mandal when two persons on a two-wheeler, Uppatala Vasu (A1) of NTR district and Vemula Koteshwar Rao (A2) of Mathampally mandal noticed the police and escaped. After trying, the suspects were detained and interrogated and they had 5 lakhs in cash, and it was found that they were stealing motors and motor core wire and selling them. They got money, Akarapu Venkathy (A3) and Ajmira Mantriya (A4) four have stolen motor core and sold the property since last year and kept it at the old goods dealer A5 Srinu of Mattampally and shared it on 27.08.2024. Based on the testimony of A1 and A2, Akarapu Venkathy (A3) and Ajmira Mantriya (A4) were caught coming on separate bikes at Nighu Kasarigudem and 3.81 lakh cash was recovered from them. Based on their confession, 1.20 lakh cash was recovered from A5 Srinu, an old-time trader in Matampally. A total of 10 lakh 1 thousand cash was seized. Due to the police’s vigilance, the whole money of the wire sold was kept with the merchant and the police caught him in the process of sharing it. He admitted that the total amount of cash was from the sale of winding copper wire stolen from 135 motors. Also 31 motors worth Rs. 4,34,000/- were seized. Auto, 3 bikes and cell phones used for theft were also seized.

A-3) Akarapu Venkati Age: 26 Years, Occupation: Laborer, Residence: Gundlapalli Village, Matampalli Mandal.

A-4) Ajmer Mantriya Age: 32 Years, Occupation: Laborer, Residence: Village Sultanpuram Thanda, Matampalli Mandal.

A-5) Gadagantla Srinu Age: 45 Years, Occupation: Old Iron Trading, Residence:, Matampally Village and Mandal.

Past criminal history of the accused

A case was registered as Cr.NO.453/2020 U/s 34 (a) AP Excise act in Vatsavai PS of NTR district while A-1 was transporting liquor illegally from Telangana. A-3 is accused of murder case under Mattam Pally P.S. Crime No. 100/2012, A-5 is accused of Cr.No.106/2007 U/s 379 IPC case of illegal public distribution of rice while Cr.No. 74/2024 U/s 420 IPC, 7 of EC Act registered case. 453/2023 Illicit Liquor Case against A1 Uppatala Vasu in Vatsavai PS in Andhra, Murder Case against A2 Vemula Koteswara Rao in Mathampally PS, PDS Rice Case against A5 Gadagantla Srinu There are 2 cases in evacuation.
