Cannabis cultivator arrested and cannabis plants seized

RSD-Vemulawada news: On 28.03.2026, when credible information was received stating that an individual named Achche Lal, hailing from the state of Uttar Pradesh, was illegally cultivating cannabis plants on the outskirts of Agraharam village, within the limits of Vemulawada town. Acting immediately upon this information, SI Srinivas, accompanied by his staff, reached the scene of the incident. In the presence of independent witnesses, they conducted a panchanama (official seizure report) and confiscated the cannabis plants. Subsequently, the accused was taken into custody and transported to the police station. Following this, a case was registered, and the Inspector-in-Charge, Srinivas, remanded the accused to judicial custody. On this occasion, DSP A. Srinivasulu commended SI Srinivas, PC Mahipal, PC Santosh, and Home Guard Anand for their role in seizing the cannabis plants. It is hereby announced that strict action will be taken against crimes involving the cultivation, transportation, sale, or consumption of cannabis. Furthermore, the public is urged to provide information regarding such illegal activities to the local police or via ‘Dial 100’; it is assured that the identities of those providing such information will be kept strictly confidential.
