CM Revanth’s sensational statement on increase in movie ticket rates

RSD- Telangana news: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made sensational comments about the increase in ticket rates, giving priority to the welfare of film industry workers. Revanth attended a felicitation meeting organized by the Telugu Film Industry Employees Federation and 24 other union representatives. Revanth addressed the gathering. “If the ticket rates are to be increased, 20 percent of the increased amount should be given to the film workers. Otherwise, no more Government will be given!” he made it clear. “If the film ticket rates are increased, only the producers and exhibitors will get money. But the workers working in the industry – light men, camera technicians, spot boys, etc., will not get anything. Therefore, if permission is to be given (Government) for the increase in ticket rates from now on, 20 percent of the increased rate must be given to the worker’s welfare fund,” he announced. He said that it is his responsibility to bring Hollywood here. There is no point in watching small films in a low light. He reminded that the Gaddar Film Award is being announced in the name of the People’s Warship Gaddar. I know the hardships of the film workers. I am not blinded by power. I know the hardships of the workers. The reason why the Telugu industry has reached the level of Oscar is because of the workers, said Revanth. He announced that 10 crores will be deposited in the welfare fund of the film workers on behalf of the government. This is their right. They can use this money whenever they need it. He said that a special school will be built for the children of the film workers in Krishnanagar. It will have modern facilities and free education. He said that the government will take responsibility for the future of their children. The workers have brought all these problems of health insurance, pension, skill development to his attention. He assured that health cards, skill training centers, pension scheme will be made available to the workers. He warned that if any individuals or institutions want to take control of the film industry, the government will not stand idly. He said that if Hyderabad is to be transformed into Hollywood, the welfare of the workers must first be strengthened.
