Financial awareness should be enhanced says In-charge Collector Garima Agarwal

RSD- Sircilla news: In-charge Collector Garima Agarwal suggested that awareness should be created regarding financial literacy. On 09.02.2026, In-charge Collector Garima Agarwal unveiled awareness posters prepared by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) as part of Financial Literacy Week, in the presence of District Consultative Committee (DCC) members at the District Integrated Offices Complex. On this occasion, In-charge Collector Garima Agarwal said that the RBI is implementing Financial Literacy Week with the aim of enhancing financial awareness among various sections of the population. She stated that it has been proposed to observe this week from February 9th to 13th 2026 with the theme “KYC – Your First Step Towards Secure Banking”. They stated that the main objective is to ensure account discipline and create awareness among the public regarding Know Your Customer (KYC), Central KYC Registry (CKYC), and precautions against KYC-related frauds and money laundering. They suggested conducting several awareness campaigns at the district level in coordination with the Lead District Manager (LDM). They clarified that the RBI and banks never send emails or SMS messages, or make calls asking for personal information such as bank account details and passwords. In-charge Collector Garima Agarwal advised people not to respond to offers, links, or calls received on their mobile phones through various social media platforms. Lead Bank Manager Mallikarjuna Rao, managers of various banks, and others participated in the program.
