First bonam for Goddess Jagadambika of Golconda
RSD-Hyderabad news: The festival of Ashadha month of Bonala started with grandeur in Bhagyanagaram on 07.07.2024. The city of Hyderabad is resounding with the dances of Shivasats and the dances of Potarajus. Bonala festival started on 07.07.2024 with offering of the first Bonam to Goddess Jagadambika of Golkonda. Devotees along with family members reached Golkonda Fort in large numbers from early morning on 07.07.2024. On behalf of the government, Minister of Religion Konda Surekha presented silk cloths for the first puja of Goddess Jagadambika in Golconda. Later, deitie’s procession reached Golconda Fort with Nazar Bonam from Banjara Darwaja side. Devotees offer bonas after placing the ghatas of the goddess in the temple.
People are coming to the temple after cooking paramanna in an earthen pot with devotion and preparing bonas. A spiritual atmosphere prevails in Golkonda Fort as Bonals flock to the temple amid the chanting of Dillem Ballem songs and the feasts of Shivsats and the games of Potaraju. The government is organizing the festival with a fund of Rs.20 crores in the name of Dasabdi Bonala. Huge arrangements have been made to avoid inconvenience to the devotees. The residents of the city are paying prayers to the goddess, begging Jagadambika to look after everyone. The Golconda fort, filled with devotees, took on a spiritual splendor. whereas, Ashadham Bonala Jatara will continue till 4th August 2024 in Bhagyanagaram. Secunderabad Ujjain Mahankali on 21st and 22nd of July, 21st Bona and 22nd will be Deitie’s Grand entry. Laldarwaja Simhavahini Ammavari Bonas will be held on 28th and 29th of July 2024. Bonals will be held on 28th and Ranga pravesham will be held on 29th of July 2024.
