RSD_ Husband sentenced for harassing on extra dowry

RSD- Sircilla news: A husband who harassed his wife for extra dowry was sentenced to one and a half years imprisonment. Mustabad SI said in a statement that Sircilla First Class Judge Praveen pronounced the verdict on 21.10.2024 by  imposing a fine of Rs.10000/-. On this occasion SI said that Sunkari Raju of Tuljapur village of Domakonda mandal got married to Meghamala of Gudem village of Mustabad mandal in 2010. They had a son, but after a few years he harassed his wife to bring additional dowry. Unable to bear the harassment, in Mustabad Police Station she lodged a complaint against Sunkari Raju in 2015. The police registered a case against Sunkari Raju and the then SI Maruti filed a charge sheet in the court. Public Prosecutor Sandeep argued for the prosecution while SI Mustabad Ganesh, CMS SI Ravinder Naidu and court constable Devender produced seven witnesses in the court. After proving the crime against the accused Sunkari Raju, Judge Praveen sentenced him to one and a half years imprisonment and SI Ganesh said in a statement that a fine of Rs.10000/- has been imposed too.
