Husband sentenced to 3 years in prison for harassing his wife
RSD- Sircilla news: Sircilla Second Additional Magistrate Gaddam Meghana on 15.07.2025 sentenced husband Kandi Ramesh to 3 years in rigorous imprisonment for harassing his wife, said Tangallapalli SI Upendra Chari. According to the details, Kandi Padma of Ankusapur village in Tangalpalli mandal was married to Kandi Ramesh of Baddanapalli village in 2001. They have three children. Ramesh became addicted to alcohol and used to harass his wife Padma and their children. In this context, on July 4, 2017, Ramesh came home drunk and harassed his wife, asking her to give him money. When she refused, he severely beat her and also beat Padma’s mother who intervened. Based on Padma’s complaint, Tangalpalli police registered a case and remanded Ramesh and filed a charge sheet in the court. Public Prosecutor Peddi Vikrant presented arguments on behalf of the prosecution, while Court Constable Srikanth presented the witnesses in the court. After examining the evidence, Magistrate Meghana sentenced the accused Ramesh to three years in prison, said the SI.
