Gite has taken key action against Gambarraopet SI Srikanth following allegations of third-degree torture on journalists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SP Mahesh B. Gite issued orders attaching SI Srikanth to the AR Headquarters with immediate effect. A DSP-level inquiry has been ordered into the allegations against him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What happened?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A case was registered at Gambarraopet Police Station against Pothuri Shekar and Rathipalli Sampath for allegedly publishing a series of false reports targeting Gambarraopet SI Srikanth in &#8220;Ekdam&#8221; newspaper. They were arrested and allegedly subjected to third-degree torture in the police station on 13.10.2026 before being remanded, as per the allegations against SI Srikanth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this backdrop, Vemulawada DSP Srinivasulu has been appointed as the Inquiry Officer to probe the matter, SP said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SP Mahesh B.
