RSD- Vemulawada news: On 08-06-2020, on the basis of information that two persons named Vadicherla John Pratap Reddy from East Godavari district and Gummadivelli Chandrasekhar from Nampally were transporting ganja in the Nampally area of Vemulawada town, Vemulawada town police arrested them and seized 3.5 kg ganja from them and registered a case against the two persons. The then Vemulawada town CI Venkatesh filed a charge sheet in the court. Court Constable Mahender and CMS Constable Naveen, under the leadership of CMS SI Ravindra Naidu, presented eight witnesses. Addl, PP Vemula Lakshmi Prasad argued for the prosecution. After examining the antecedents of the case, the judge sentenced both the accused to 05 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 50,000/- each. On this occasion, the SP said that who commits a crime in the society cannot escape punishment, andthat only punishments can bring about change in the society, and the police and prosecution will conduct a strategic legal investigation and justice and ensure that the accused are punished. The District SP specially congratulated PP Vemula Lakshmi Prasad, then and present Inspectors Venkatesh and Veera Prasad, CMS SI Ravindra Naidu, Court Constable Mahender, and CMS Constable Naveen, who worked hard to punish the accused in the case.
