Mahashivratri fair celebrated in grandeur

RSD-Vemulawada news: Thousands of devotees from across the state gathered to have darshan of Rajanna, who is known as the god of the poor. The temple premises were packed with people coming to the fair with their children. Devotees arrived at Rajanna Temple on 26.02.2025 to perform special pujas and vigils on the occasion of Mahashivratri. All of them stayed under the pendals set up at the Rajanna temple pond. Special arrangements were made to provide drinking water, toilets, buses, electric lamps, and decorations for the devotees to have darshan quickly. State Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Whip Adi Srinivas presented silk robes to Vemulawada Rajanna on behalf of the government. On this occasion, the temple priests welcomed the Minister and the Whip. Earlier, Deputy EO Lokanatham and members of the priest team offered silk clothes under the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam. On behalf of Sringeri Sharada Peetham, Radhakrishna Sharma offered silk clothes and Rudraksha malas to the Lord. The Minister and Whip started the Shivarchana program organized on the temple pond grounds by lighting the Jyoti. Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said that the people of the state want to be prosperous. After offering silk clothes to the Lord, he said that all the ministers are working for the development of this area. He said that he is happy to offer silk clothes on behalf of the government. He said that there is a male calf surrounding the Rajanna temple as one of the rituals done to rajanna in Vemulawada like nowhere else in the country. He said that the temple is being expanded with Rs. 76 crores. He said that the Mahashivratri fair work will begin. Later, Adi Srinivas said that steps are being taken to provide transport and drinking water facilities to the devotees coming to the Mahashivratri Jatara. Earlier, Government Whip Adi Srinivas inaugurated free breakfast for the devotees of Rajanna, Annadanam on behalf of Vaishya Satram, and 14 free buses. Earlier, Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha and SP Akhil Mahajan inspected the Jatara arrangements and made several suggestions to the temple authorities. They were accompanied by Temple EO Vinod Reddy, RDO Rajeshwar, Municipal Commissioner Anvesh, EE Rajesh, and Town CI Veera Prasad. On the occasion of Shivaratri, on 26.02.2025 evening from 6 pm to 8 pm, the hereditary priests will perform Mahalingarchana, darshan, and Mahanyasa Ekadasa Rudrabhishekam to the Swami during the Lingodbhava period at 11.35 pm. Officials said that those who wish to participate in special pujas on the occasion of Mahashivratri can perform abhishekam at the Bhimeshwara Temple. District SP Akhil Mahajan IPS., giving instructions to police officers and staff through sets, coordinating the officers and staff, talking to devotees in the queue and talking to the staff if they have any problems, taking special initiatives to ensure easy darshan. Special measures are being taken to avoid any traffic problems due to hundreds of vehicles coming to the fair. During the Shivaratri festival, around 500 CCTV cameras installed around the temple premises and CCTV cameras located within the city limits are being connected to the command control and monitored continuously. Special measures are being taken to prevent traffic and parking problems by providing instructions to the staff at the places where disturbances have occurred and areas where traffic is disrupted through set communication.
