Police seized gold worth Rs. 12 lakh from a thief

RSD-Karimnagar news: In the Revenue Colony in Thigalaguttapally, Karimnagar Rural, a case was registered at the Karimnagar Rural PS in the months of February and June 2025. On the orders of Karimnagar CP Goush Alam IPS, Karimnagar Rural ACP Vijay Kumar handed over the case to Karimnagar Rural CI A. Niranjan Reddy and CCS CI Prakash Goud to crack down on such thefts. They cracked the case. Akbar, the father of Mohammed Mustaq of Revenue Colony in Thigalaguttapally, downloaded the online betting game Dash Rummy application on his phone and got addicted to playing it for the last two years. He lost lakhs and got into debt and turned to theft to pay it off. Mohammed Mustaq, who has been working as a boiler operator at Mellacheruvu near Kodad for the past year and a half, got addicted to playing the online betting game Dash Rummy. Without the knowledge of his parents, he borrowed money from his friends and acquaintances and played Dash Rummy, an online betting app. He lost it and could not repay it. He turned to theft. For this purpose, in February and June of this year, he identified locked houses and removed the window grill twice in a house in Teegala Guttapalli and entered the house and stole gold and cash. He also entered a house near a dargah in Jubilee Nagar and stole a TV. Since no one bought the gold here, he went to Kodad and tried to sell it there. Since no one bought it there either, he decided to come back to Teegalu Guttapalli and sell it in Karimnagar or Warangal or Mancherial. On 29.10.2025, he came to the railway station in Teegalu Guttapalli and was standing outside when he saw the police and tried to flee. Karimnagar Rural CI A. Niranjan Reddy and his staff caught him and recovered the stolen money, about 91 grams of gold, 5 thousand rupees in cash and a cell phone from him.
