RSD- Karimnagar news: District Collector Pamela Satpathi said that everyone should follow the rules to prevent road accidents and awareness is the key to preventing accidents. A Road Safety Committee meeting was held at the District Collectorate Conference Hall on 25.11.2025 under the chairmanship of District Collector Pamela Satpathi. Police Commissioner CP Gaush Alam participated in this. National Highway Authority officials, R&B, Transport Department, RTC Panchayat Raj Department officials and many other officials participated in this meeting. In this, a complete review was conducted on the main topic of road accident prevention measures. Through a power point presentation, awareness was created about the areas where road accidents are increasing. District Collector, CP discussed the steps to be taken to completely control the accidents. Speaking on the occasion, the District Collector said that all the police, municipal, national highway, R&B, RTC officials should work together to prevent road accidents in the district. People should also cooperate in this. He suggested that if motorists follow traffic rules and regulations, road accidents can be prevented. She said that defensive driving is the mantra for preventing road accidents, and that driving while observing the surroundings can prevent road accidents. She said that safety measures will be taken to control road accidents in areas where road accidents are most common. The officials ordered to make special arrangements where necessary for this. She inquired about the details of the road accidents that occurred in the district in 2025 year. The District Collector said that all kinds of steps should be taken to prevent road accidents and that necessary work would be allowed to be undertaken. She suggested that all the officials should collectively make Karimnagar district a district free of road accidents.

Multi-pronged strategy to prevent road accidents

Karimnagar CP Goush Alam said that the police department is implementing a multi-pronged strategy to completely control road accidents on the respective roads in the district and appropriate measures are being taken from time to time. He said that the areas where accidents occur on the roads on the Karimnagar to Hyderabad Warangal route, Jagityala Sicilla Choppadandi route have been identified. He said that black spots have been identified on the respective roads and special measures are being taken to control road accidents. He said that the police department is acting in a disciplined manner and due to this they have worked to prevent road accidents to some extent. He said that the main reason for these accidents is speeding, reckless driving and drunk driving. He said that the authorities should take precautions from time to time to ensure that all traffic signals in Karimnagar work. He said that the authorities should take safety measures wherever necessary to prevent road accidents. He said that college students and school children should take precautions when crossing the road. Similarly, they advised that vehicles should be driven only at the permitted speed and not to cause accidents by driving too fast or on the wrong route. They informed that traffic rules should be followed while driving vehicles and that they should wear helmets. They said that as part of daily vehicle checking, they are identifying drunk and driving and wrong route driving and imposing fines on them. Similarly, they said that by parking vehicles on the road in the designated place, there will be no disruption to traffic. The CP said that DGP Shivdar Reddy has started the Arrive Alive program to prevent road accidents and this program is being implemented extensively in the district. He said that the speed of the vehicle should be within the limit on the national highway and if the vehicle is driven beyond the limit, the staff will detect it through a speed gun and fine it. He informed that the vehicle drivers should definitely have the documents related to the vehicle along with the driving license.
