We should raise awareness about cancer

RSD- Sircilla news: Associate Professor Dr. B. Ram Mohan’s call at a conference organized on the occasion of World Cancer Day. To mark World Cancer Day, a cancer awareness conference was organized on 04.02.2025 for the teachers and students of the Tribal Degree College in Tangalle Mandal Center under the Helping Hearts Welfare Society NGO. Associate Professor Dr. B. Ram Mohan of Sircilla Government Hospital attended the program as the chief guest and spoke, he said that everyone should raise awareness about cancer. He said that breast and cervical cancers are increasingly occurring in women. He said that cervical cancer can be prevented through the human papilloma vaccine. He said that by administering this vaccine to girls between the ages of 10 and 12, precautions can be taken to prevent cervical cancer. He said that everyone should undergo a self-screening test to detect breast cancer at an early stage. He said that painless lumps in the breast can be a cause of cancer. He urged people to avoid consuming food items in plastic containers. He said that eating a balanced diet, adopting a good lifestyle, and avoiding junk food can protect them from the clutches of cancer. Eminent psychologist K. Punnamchander spoke and said that long-term mental stress can also cause cancer. He said that there is also a risk of getting cancer through genetics. He advised people to take more precautions if any of their family members have cancer. Helping Hearts General Secretary Advocate Dasari Tirumala spoke and said that their organization is organizing awareness programs with experts to raise awareness about health problems among women. College Principal Gajjela Jaya said that such awareness programs will help people avoid getting infected by taking precautions for their health. Psychologist K.
