3 years in prison for attacking his mother-in-law

Her daughter Yagu Padmavathi was married to Karnabattula Lakshmana Rao, his son Prema Sagar Rao, about 30 years ago. They have one son and one daughter. Her son-in-law Prem Sagar Rao is not doing anything, drinking alcohol and spending money recklessly. His father has registered his house in the name of his grandson Ashish. Her son-in-law and she have been living in their house for almost a year because they quarrel every day. On 09.05.2017, while she was sitting on the porch in front of their house, he started cursing and harassing her. At 7 o’clock in the evening, he hit her with his hands, kicked her with his legs and punched her on her left arm and left jaw, nose, and ears. Blood was flowing from her mouth and nose. She immediately went to Sircilla Government Hospital for treatment. The doctor said that the left upper jaw tooth was broken and she got treatment. When the doctor saw her, he said that the left upper jaw tooth was broken. When her son-in-law beat her, her child Padmavati and the people around also saw it. She did not file a complaint immediately after going home from the hospital as she was in a bad condition. After treatment, she filed a complaint at the Sircilla police station. The then SI Machineni Ravi registered a case against Premsagar Rao. After investigation, the investigating officer filed a charge sheet in the court. Court monitoring was carried out under the supervision of S. I. Shravan. Court Constable Naresh produced six witnesses in the court, while Public Prosecutor Chelumala Sandeep argued on behalf of the prosecution. After examining the antecedents of the case, Sircilla First Class Judge A. Praveen, who found the crime proven, sentenced the accused Karma Bathula Premsagar Rao to three years in prison and a fine of two thousand rupees, said Sircilla Town Inspector Krishna.
