RSD-Vemulawada news: Government Whip Adi Srinivas said that providing better education to poor students is the priority goal of the public government. On 29.07.2025, Government Whip Adi Srinivas along with District Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha laid the foundation stone for the construction of a women’s hostel building at Agraharam Government Degree College in Vemulawada Urban Mandal with funds of Rs 9.20 crore under the PM Usha scheme.Speaking on the occasion, Government Whip Adi Srinivas said that during his first visit to Agraharam Government Degree College after being elected as a legislator, he noticed the problems faced by girls due to lack of hostel accommodation and brought it to the attention of the CM.He said that the government has sanctioned 10 crores for the construction of a hostel in view of the importance the government attaches to education and the priority it has given to creating infrastructure in schools, colleges and residential educational institutions where the poor study.He recalled that in 2005, a science wing was set up at Agraharam Degree College with the support of the then CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy. The Government Whip stated that more girls will pursue higher education due to hostel accommodation.He said that the public government has increased the diet charges by 40 percent and cosmetic charges by 200 percent for poor children studying in residential schools. He said that a common diet menu has been introduced with the aim of providing quality food to poor children.He said that 11 thousand new teacher posts have been filled through DSC and appointed in government schools.He said that transfers and promotions related to teachers have been made transparent. He said that radical changes are being brought in the education system and that ITI colleges are being linked with Ratan Tata Company and converted into advance trade centers.He said that the government has undertaken the construction of Young India Integrated Gurukul on a land of 20 to 25 acres by spending Rs. 200 crore. He said that a government junior college has been sanctioned in Medipalli mandal.He said that the All India examinations related to Vedas were held at the Vemulawada Rajanna temple. He said that in the future, full efforts will be made to establish more educational institutions in the Vemulawada area.District Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha said that he was very happy to lay the foundation stone for the construction of houses for girls at the Government Degree College in Agraharam with Rs. 9 crore 20 lakh under the PM Usha scheme on Naga Panchami day. The Collector stated that the construction work of this building will be completed within 18 months and will be made available to the students.The college principal, teachers, students, local leaders, concerned officials and others participated in this program.
