A budget that left the education department disappointed

RSD-Sircilla news: Given that the Chief Minister himself oversees the Education Department and has pledged to develop the education system everyone anticipated that substantial funds would be allocated to the department in this budget. However, we have been left deeply disappointed by the allocation of a mere 8.2% of the total budget. With such an allocation, it is simply not feasible to steer the Education Department onto a path of development. Despite repeated demands from teacher’s associations and intellectuals who have consistently called for an allocation of at least 20% of the budget no government, regardless of which party is in power, seems to fundamentally recognize the priority that the Education Department deserves. Education alone serves as the bedrock of a nation’s development, it would have been far more appropriate to accord this vital sector a much higher priority within the budget says Dumala Ramanath Reddy, District President, Telangana Progressive Teachers Federation (TPTF), Rajanna Sircilla District.
