Accused sentenced to 10 years in prison in the case of sexual assault on a minor girl

RSD-Vemulawada news: District SP Mahesh B. Gite congratulated the officers, PP and staff for their efforts in getting the accused punished. The Chief Judge of the Sircilla POCSO Court, Radhika Jaiswal, announced the verdict on 09.04.2026, sentencing the accused to ten years in prison and a fine of Rs. 5000/- in the case of sexual assault on a minor girl (POCSO), the District SP said. A minor girl from Vemulawada town police station limits was kidnapped and forcibly molested by A2) Udugatla Ajay s/o Yellaiah, 27yrs, r/o Ambedkar Nagar, Vemulawada along with A1 Gauraveni Nagaraju (juvenile). A case was registered on the complaint of the victim’s father and the then Vemulawada DSP Venkataramana, after investigation, remanded the accused and a charge sheet was filed in the court. Under the supervision of Court Monitoring SI Ravindra Naidu, Court Constable Mahender and CMS Constable Naveen presented 18 witnesses in the court, while Public Prosecutor Penta Srinivas argued on behalf of the prosecution. The Honorable Judge, after examining the scientific evidence and evidence, found the crime proven and sentenced the accused A2. Ajay to ten years in prison and a fine of Rs. 5000/-. Since A1 is a juvenile, the case against him is being tried in the juvenile court. On this occasion, the SP said that no one who commits a crime in the society can escape punishment, and only punishments can change the society, and the police and prosecution will conduct a strategic investigation and justice and ensure that the punishment is meted out. The District SP congratulated the then investigating officer DSP Venkataramana, current CI Veera Prasad, Public Prosecutor Penta Srinivas, Court Monitoring SI Ravindra Naidu, Court Constable Mahender, CMS Constables Naveen and Vennela, who worked hard to conduct a thorough investigation in this case and get the accused punished.
