The target for HPV vaccination must be achieved

RSD-Sircilla news: In accordance with government directives, District Collector Garima Agarwal issued orders to ensure that the HPV vaccination target in the district is fully achieved. On 25.04.2026, the District Collector conducted a review meeting at the auditorium within the District Integrated Offices Complex (IDOC) with officials from the Medical & Health, Panchayat Raj, and District Welfare Departments. The meeting covered various topics, including HPV vaccination, TB diagnosis, NCD screenings, the construction of Anganwadi and PHC buildings and toilets, Child Safety Week, and the MTP Act. Speaking at the meeting, District Collector Garima Agarwal directed that the HPV vaccination target for the district be met by administering vaccines to girls with the assistance of Anganwadi workers at the Government General Hospital in Sircilla, the Area Hospital in Vemulawada, and all other government medical facilities. She further noted that, as part of the ‘TB Mukt Bharat’ (TB-Free India) initiative, diagnostic screenings for TB using a mobile X-ray unit have already been completed in 24 out of the 42 villages identified under the 100-day action plan, she directed that the screenings in the remaining villages be completed strictly according to the scheduled plan. He issued directives to prioritize sanitation activities in villages where TB cases have been reported, to pay special attention to TB patients by ensuring they receive their medication, and to raise awareness regarding the importance of maintaining a nutritious diet. The District Collector directed the Panchayat Raj Department to expedite the construction of Primary Health Centers (PHCs), Health Sub-centers, Anganwadi buildings, and toilet facilities within Anganwadi centers across the district. He instructed them to accelerate the pace of work in accordance with the planned schedule and ensure completion by June 2026. Under the supervision of the DCHS (District Coordinator of Health Services), she inquired about Outpatient (OP) registrations, inpatient services, and other operational aspects at the Vemulawada Area Hospital, as well as the Community Health Centers (CHCs) in Yellareddypet and Gambhiraopet, and offered several suggestions to the medical staff. They advised doctors to conduct awareness sessions regarding the Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) Act. Further instructed that, in compliance with government directives, “Child Safety Week” be observed in the district starting from the 27.04.2026; suggested organizing programs strictly according to the prescribed schedule to raise awareness about various government and welfare department schemes and services. Directed Anganwadi teachers and helpers to create awareness about “Mission Vatsalya,” collect the details of eligible beneficiaries, and submit this information to the District Welfare Officer’s office. Finally, the District Collector instructed that the RO water purification plants supplied to Anganwadi centers be installed and made operational, and that the provided play materials be made available to ensure children have access to recreational activities.
