Bathukamma is a Symbol of Telangana Culture and Tradition
RSD_Sircilla: Bathukamma festival is a symbol of Telangana’s culture and traditions, said Sircilla Municipal Chairperson Jindam Kala Chakrapani.
To enable women to celebrate the Bathukamma festival with joy and enthusiasm, four newly constructed Bathukamma Ghats in Ward Nos. 2, 12, 21, and 38 of Sircilla town were inaugurated by her on Sunday. The ghats were built at a cost of Rs. 32 lakhs.
Speaking on the occasion, Jindam Kala Chakrapani said that the Bathukamma festival stands as a symbol of the affection of Telangana’s daughters, worship of nature, and cultural traditions. She stated that this festival, where women stack Bathukammas with colourful flowers and celebrate together with songs and dances, showcases the uniqueness of Telangana to the world.
She added that these ghats were built so that women can celebrate the festival happily without any inconvenience.
