RSD_ BC reservations should not be reduced to 42 percent

RSD-Hyderabad news: CM Revanth Reddy has made it clear that there is no going back on the implementation of BC reservations in local bodies. As per the promise given in the elections, BC reservations should be implemented without reducing it to 42 percent. If the caste census report and the BC Dedicated Commission recommend more reservations for BCs, let’s give that amount, it is learnt that the CM told the ministers in the meeting on 01.02.2025. Rahul Gandhi is launching a nationwide movement with the slogan ‘All share for the maximum population’. In this context, it is reported that he has stated that it should start from the state and set an example. The caste census report has already been completed. The BC Dedicated Commission has also prepared a report on BC reservations. We promised in the elections that we would provide 42 percent reservation to BCs. The BC Dedicated Commission will make recommendations on BC reservations by wards and panchayats. Let us implement reservations in the government sector accordingly, it is learnt, as CM Revanth Reddy told the ministers. However, if the BC reservations are implemented at 42 percent or as recommended by the BC Dedicated Commission, is there any possibility of any legal problems?  If reservations are implemented for BCs in local bodies, education and jobs by the government, there is definitely a possibility of legal complications. First, let’s implement them in the local body elections. If there is no problem, let’s move forward as usual. If there are any problems, where will the BC Dedicated Commission make recommendations for BC reservations? Let’s field BC candidates in the respective wards and panchayats, party-wise. This is the party’s decision. This is also Rahul Gandhi’s idea, CM Revanth Reddy is known to have clarified. He advised ministers to take this message strongly to the party MLAs and cadre at the lower levels. A minister said that the CM had said that if necessary, an announcement would be made in the Assembly on this. It is known that CM Revanth Reddy said that if the Congress party implements BC reservations in the local body elections as per the recommendations of the BC Dedicated Commission, other parties will also have to implement it, he said. He said that other parties will also take up the BC slogan and will allocate seats to BCs as Congress has given. If everything goes as planned, the CM is known to have commented that the credit for implementing reservations for BCs at the appropriate level for the first time in the country will go to Congress. The ministers were directed to campaign in that direction, saying that the Congress party should be given the credit for bringing and implementing BC reservations under any circumstances. It is learnt that a special legal team has been ordered to be formed to look into the legal implications of implementing reservations on behalf of the government. A legal opinion has already been taken from the AG on the implementation of BC reservations and the reservation exceeding the 50 percent cap.
