BJP concern over deplorable condition of double-bedroom houses
RSD- Sircilla news: Dhumala Srikanth, President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Sircilla Town branch, expressed deep anguish over the unfortunate state of the double-bedroom houses constructed with crores of rupees of public funds in the Shantinagar area of Sircilla town. He stated that these houses have now fallen into disrepair and are overgrown with weeds. After personally inspecting the houses, he said that the neglect of houses built for the people is a grave insult to public funds. He expressed concern that electrical wires, motors, and iron materials are being stolen from the vacant houses, and the area is becoming a hub for anti-social activities. These double-bedroom houses were constructed on a very expensive plot of land on the outskirts of Sircilla town. Previously, a colony for Scheduled Caste communities was built on the same site, which also fell into disrepair, and these double-bedroom houses were constructed in its place. Now, these houses are also facing the same fate of dilapidation. He stated that this problem arose because the government, despite initially announcing that these houses would be allocated to Scheduled Caste communities first and then to other eligible beneficiaries, has not yet completed the process. He demanded that the problem be resolved immediately and the houses be handed over to the eligible beneficiaries. The then minister and current local MLA distributed double-bedroom houses, but 900 people are still left without them. While some were given land titles, they haven’t even been shown the actual plots, which drew strong criticism. It is regrettable that public representatives are neglecting people’s problems and limiting themselves only to party activities, he fumed. He warned that these double-bedroom houses should be immediately distributed to the poor who are facing severe difficulties in paying rent, otherwise, there is a risk of them completely collapsing. On behalf of the BJP Sircilla town branch, Dumala Srikanth demanded that the District Collector and local public representatives immediately intervene and resolve the issue, and allocate the houses to the eligible poor without delay.
