Cyber crimes prevention through vigilance and awareness

RSD- Sircilla news: The people of the district should be vigilant about cybercrimes, and to curb cybercrimes that are capitalized on fear, they should raise awareness about cybercrimes. Cybercrimes can be prevented through vigilance and awareness. The District SP said that by filing a complaint within the first hour (golden hour) of a cybercrime, the recovery of the money lost by freezing the scammer’s account will be easier. Have you been cheated by cybercriminals? Have you lost your money? However, you can get your money back by calling Dial 1930 immediately or registering a complaint on the cybercrime.gov.in website.
Some cyber crimes that occurred in the Rajanna Sircilla district this week
1. In the Chandurthi police station area, the victims came into contact with them after seeing an advertisement for a part-time job on WhatsApp. As part of that, they invested an amount in the form of investment in the name of tasks, thus the victims lost Rs. 65,000/-.
2. In the Sircilla Town police station area, the victim chatted on WhatsApp saying that he would invest in crypto currency, and in that, the victims were cheated of Rs. 50,000/- in the form of investment.
3. In the Konaraopet police station area, the victim lost his mobile. Later, the suspect who stole the mobile phone, from that mobile phone will send Rs. 2,15,000/- to another account, so the PIN number should not be kept easy.
To avoid being exposed to cyber crimes, these precautions should be taken.
1. Stay away from loan apps.
2. Do not search for customer care numbers on Google at all. Customer care numbers should be obtained only from the official website of the respective companies.
3. Do not respond to video calls from unknown numbers through Facebook and WhatsApp.
4. Do not believe messages that say lottery offers.
5. Do not believe advertisements provided by unverified apps and websites. Do not respond to fraudulent offers given by them and get fooled.
6. Do not believe and be fooled if someone contacts you on OLX, 99acres, Magicbricks apps claiming to be army soldiers and officers.
7. Do not invest in easy returns and commission based sites.
8. Do not share details like password, OTP, PIN with anyone under any circumstances.
9. Do not respond to any message or email from anyone claiming to have won the lottery.
