Efforts to form Telangana State Psychologists Council

RSD-Sircilla news: Government Whip and Vemulawada MLA Adi Srinivas has expressed full support for the efforts being made by the Telangana Psychologists Association (TPA) to form a Telangana State Psychologists Council. On 10.08.2025, K.Punnamchander, psychologist met Government Whip Vemulawada MLA Adi Srinivas in Sircilla and submitted a petition. Speaking on the occasion, Adi Srinivas said that he would do his best to form a Psychologists Council in the state. TPA representatives explained the problems faced by more than 2,500 psychologists across the state and the benefits of forming the council. Speaking on the occasion, Adi Srinivas said, The role of psychologists is very crucial in this era when mental health problems are increasing.On this occasion, he assured that he will mention the formation of the council in the Assembly and provide necessary support. TPA State Vice President Kanuntla Punnamchander explained the main demands of the Psychologists Association to Government Whip Adi Srinivas. Legal recognition & licensing system for psychologists. Formal regulation for mental health centers. Continuous training and encouragement for research are needed for professional development, he said.
