RSD- Telangana news: Legislative Council member A.V.N. Reddy expressed his opinion on the issue of exemption from the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) in the Legislative Council. He stated that making TET mandatory in teacher recruitment in the state is causing thousands of candidates who have completed D.El.Ed and B.Ed to lose opportunities. He said that this rule is also becoming an obstacle to teacher recruitment according to the Right to Education Act. A.V.N. Reddy said that they have already submitted a representation to the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on this matter and brought the issue of amending the Right to Education Act to his attention. He suggested that this is a crucial issue related to the future of teachers and that the state government should also immediately pass a special resolution and send it to the central government. He clarified that if the exemption in TET comes into effect, more than five lakh candidates in the state will have the opportunity to get teaching jobs. He reminded that similar exemptions are already in effect in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. A.V.N. Reddy stated that according to Section 23(2) of the Right to Education Act, there is a provision to grant exemption to experienced teachers.
