Grain procurement should be done as per rules

RSD-Sircilla news: District In-charge Collector Garima Agrawal has ordered that the procurement centers should purchase the grain brought by farmers based on the moisture content and as per the rules, and that agricultural extension officers must visit the procurement centers and educate the farmers. On 25.10.2025, she visited the grain procurement center set up under the MEPMA in Peddur, Sircilla Municipal Area, at the field level, inspected the arrangements made for the convenience of farmers at the center, and made several suggestions to the officials. She ordered that procurement should be started without delay as soon as 17 percent moisture is reached. She suggested that necessary tarpaulins should be made available to prevent the grain in the procurement centers from getting wet in the wake of the rains, and that steps should be taken at the field level so that farmers do not face any difficulties. She said that the registers in the procurement center should be checked and the details should be recorded regularly. She advised that mistakes should not be made in the tab entry. She said that if the managers and officials of the purchasing centers work in coordination, the process of purchasing grain will be completed smoothly. She explained that the government has fixed the price of Rs. 2,389 for Grade – A variety and Rs. 2,369 for common variety. She said that the government will provide an additional bonus of Rs. 500 per quintal of fine variety grain. The in-charge collector suggested that if any difficulties are encountered at the field level, the district administration should be informed immediately. The in-charge collector was accompanied by RDO Venkateswarlu, Civil Supplies Department Officer Chandraprakash, Tahsildar Mahesh, Municipal Commissioner Qadir Pasha, Mepma AO Mirza Fasahat Ali Baig, and others.
