Key bill passed in assembly, 42% reservation for BCs

RSD- Telangana news: The Telangana Assembly on 31.08.2025 approved the Municipal Law Amendment Bill. Panchayat Raj Minister Seethakka introduced this bill in the assembly and it was unanimously approved. The municipal law was amended by providing 42 percent reservation for BCs in the Panchayat Raj department. The BRS also supported the bill. This bill will be crucial in providing 42 percent reservation for BCs. Opposition leader KTR said that the BRS party is sincerely supporting these bills. On this occasion, he said that if justice is to be done for BCs, a constitutional amendment should be made. KTR accused CM Revanth Reddy of changing his mind four times on the issue of BC reservations. He said that the Panchayat Raj Bill does not have political, social and economic conditions. KTR suggested that the government should also introduce a BC sub-plan The State Assembly unanimously approved the Telangana Municipal Act Amendment Bill proposed by the state government with the aim of further strengthening urban local bodies in Telangana. With this bill, transparency and accountability in the administration of municipalities and municipal corporations will increase.
