Land grabbing scam involving fraudulent registration

RSD- Medchal news: A case was registered following a complaint filed by Doppalapudi Ravindra, a retired employee residing in Nizampet. Ravindra alleged that fraudulent sale deeds, registered in the names of other individuals, had been executed regarding Plot No. 108 (measuring 300 square yards) located in Survey Nos. 404 and 405 of Rampally village which he had originally purchased in 1983. The subsequent investigation revealed that the accused specifically targeted vacant plots, presuming that the original owners were absent. They fabricated fake “link documents” (prior title records) and, in collusion with document writer Uday Reddy and Sub-Registrar Rahman, executed fraudulent registrations to sell the property multiple times. In this process, they created a fictitious owner named Dharmarao, who then ostensibly sold the plot to Pradeep Kumar. Pradeep Kumar subsequently subdivided the plot into two parts and sold them to Prabhakar and Naresh; the latter two then jointly registered the property in the name of Gubbala Venkateshwar Rao (of GVR Infrastructure), before the title was ultimately registered in the names of Jangala Sriram and his wife, Vijayalakshmi. During the course of the investigation, the accused confessed that they had formed a syndicate with the sole intention of amassing wealth rapidly. They admitted to fraudulently encroaching upon plots using forged documents and defrauding innocent buyers by selling them the illegally acquired properties. In connection with this case, on May 3, 2026, the Keesara Police took into custody Jangala Sriram, Gubbala Venkateshwar Rao @ GVR, Bandella Prashanth @ Bobby, Bandella Prabhakar, Ponnaboyina Balakrishna @ Balu, and Uday Reddy (a document writer); they were subsequently produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody. The investigation is ongoing to apprehend the remaining accused persons involved in this case. ACP (Jawahar Nagar) Chakrapani, Inspector (Keesara) Arkapalli Anjaneyulu, Investigating Officer SI Anil Kumar, and the Keesara police staff are hereby commended for conducting a comprehensive investigation into this case said Ch. Sridhar, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Malkajgiri Zone, Malkajgiri Commissionerate.
