Operation Anti cyber crime
RSD- Hyderabad news: Hyderabad Police arrested 23 cyber criminals in a special operation conducted in various parts of the country. The accused were arrested in the states of AP, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka, said Cyber Crimes Deputy Commissioner Dara Kavitha. She said that the arrested accused were involved in 30 cases in Telangana and 359 cases in other states. She said that a special operation was undertaken to deal with the situation effectively in the wake of the significant increase in the number of cyber crime cases. She said that 23 cyber criminals were arrested in five teams in this order. She said that the accused were caught using advanced technology. They were said to have committed large-scale financial frauds. The accused were said to have committed five investment frauds, two digital arrest scams, three trading frauds and two employment frauds across the country. They said that the victims lost about Rs. 5.30 crore in these cases. Rs. 40 thousand in cash, 25 mobile phones, 45 SIM cards, 29 bank passbooks/chequebooks, 23 debit cards, credit cards, a laptop, three QR code scanners and five shell company stamps were seized from the accused. The DCP said that they have coordinated with teams of police departments of various states to identify and arrest the accused. She said that advanced investigation methods have been used to nab this gang. In the three cases, the police recovered and gave Rs. 39 lakh to the victims. Cybercrime police are advising people to stay away from social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram and websites that promise high returns on small investments from strangers. They said that people should be vigilant against cybercrimes, be wary of unknown calls or messages, and victims should immediately file complaints about cybercrimes at the nearest police stations.
