Telangana High Court Orders Action Against Anti Ambedkar Book… Author Hamara Prasad Arrested

RSD_Hyderabad: In a significant development, the Telangana High Court on Thursday directed the State authorities to take necessary action in accordance with law regarding the proposed release of a controversial book on Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
The book titled Kalpitha Nayakudu – The Fabricated Leader – Volume 1_, authored by Vara Prasad Nagularapu alias Hamara Prasad, was scheduled to be released on September 18. The book allegedly contains defamatory and fabricated content against Dr. Ambedkar.
Hearing a lunch-motion writ petition filed by journalist A. Gnana Chendren Mouli, Justice T. Madhavi Devi observed that such publications could disturb public peace and law and order. The petitioner had urged the court to direct authorities to examine the book’s title, cover page, promotional material and digital dissemination.
During the hearing, the Government Lawyer informed the court that Hamara Prasad has already been arrested by the Hyderabad police and will be produced before the court for judicial remand. The police have also seized all printed copies of the book from the press, publisher and the author.
The case has been registered at the Central Crime Station (CCS), Hyderabad. The High Court also questioned the government on the removal of the book from online platforms like Amazon.
Dalit, Bahujan organizations and democratic groups have welcomed the High Court’s order, demanding strict action against attempts to distort history and insult the architect of the Constitution.
