RSD_ Thugs vandalized Durga Devi idol at Nampally exhibition grounds

RSD- Hyderabad news: An atrocity took place at Nampally Exhibition Grounds in the city. On the occasion of Devi Navratri, miscreants vandalized the idol of Goddess, which was set up at the exhibition grounds on 10.11.2024 night. Locals noticed this on 11.10.2024 morning and informed the organizers. With this, the devotees of Amma along with the leaders of many Hindu communities reached the exhibition grounds. Begum bazar police reached the Nampally grounds after receiving information about the incident. Abids ACP Chandrasekhar along with other senior police officers inspected the incident site. Later, the police registered a case. The miscreants who entered the Nampally exhibition grounds first cut off the power supply. After that they broke the CCTV cameras in that place. Later they broke the arm of the statue of Godess Durga. Besides, the pooja materials at the idol were also scattered. The thugs also removed the barricades set up around the statue of Godess.

On this occasion, the devotees are expressing their grief that every year the idols of Hindu deities are being destroyed somewhere. The leaders of many Hindu organizations are demanding that the thugs who attacked the idol should be caught immediately and punished severely. On the other hand, as part of the Devi Sharannavaratri celebrations, every year an idol of the goddess is installed under the supervision of the exhibition society and staff. As a part of that, like every year, the statue was installed this year too. On 10.10.2024 night, Dandiya organized a program at the exhibition grounds. The top officials said that the police had performed their duties there until the event. If the incident of destruction of Ammavari’s idol was not late at night, it could have happened early 11.10.2024 morning, police officials are expressing doubt. With this, the police are examining the footage of the CCTV cameras in the surrounding areas of the exhibition grounds.
