25k Reward via ‘Rah Veer Scheme’ for saving road accident victims

RSD-Sircilla news: District SP Mahesh B. Gite announced that under the “Rah Veer Scheme” introduced by the Central Government to encourage responsible citizens (known as “Good Samaritans”) who provide immediate assistance and save lives during road accidents, a cash reward of Rs. 25,000, along with a Certificate of Appreciation, will be awarded. He noted that thousands of road accidents occur across the country every year, and the first hour following an accident is considered the “Golden Hour”, providing timely medical assistance to victims during this critical period can save numerous lives. However, he observed that some individuals hesitate to assist injured victims out of fear of potential police involvement or legal complications. To dispel these fears and encourage intervention, the Central Government has implemented the “Rah Veer Scheme.” Under this scheme, the government will present a cash incentive of Rs. 25,000 and a Certificate of Appreciation to anyone who immediately transports a road accident victim to a nearby hospital, thereby saving their life. He clarified that individuals providing such assistance will not face any legal repercussions or difficulties. He advised citizens to immediately inform the ‘108’ ambulance services upon witnessing a road accident and to transport the injured victims to the nearest government or private hospital. He urged every citizen to act responsibly and actively participate in the noble cause of saving lives.
