First woman Principal Chief Operations Manager of SCR
RSD- Secundrabad news: Smt. K. Padmaja took charge as Principal Chief Operations Manager (P.COM) of South Central Railway at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad on January 15, 2025. She belongs to the 1991 batch of Indian Railways Traffic Service. She is a Bachelor of Science & Bachelor of Education graduate. Prior to this appointment, she was serving as Principal Chief Commercial Manager (PCCM) of South Central Railway and was also handling additional responsibilities as Principal Chief Operations Manager (PCOM) of South Central Railway. In a distinguished career spanning over 30 years in Indian Railways, Smt. K. Padmaja served as Assistant Commercial Manager, Hyderabad Division; Assistant Traffic Manager and Divisional Operations Manager (Coal & Goods), Secunderabad Division; Senior Divisional Safety Officer, Guntakal Division; Deputy Chief Commercial Manager, PRS; Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and Senior Divisional Operations Manager, Secunderabad Division in South Central Railway. Later, at Rail Nilayam Headquarters, she held several other key positions such as Deputy Chief Operations Manager/Coaching; Chief Traffic Manager, General; Chief Passenger Traffic Manager; Chief Freight Traffic Manager and Chief Commercial Manager, Passenger Services. During her long career, she also served as Advisor (Transport)/Godavari Fertilizers Company Limited and General Manager, Kanker, Hyderabad. In addition, she is also holding the positions of State Commissioner, Secretary, Handball, South Central Railway Sports Association, President, South Central Railway Lalitha Kala Samiti, Secunderabad and President, South Central Railway Officers Association. During her tenure as Principal Chief Commercial Manager (PCCM) since July, 2024, Smt. Padmaja has overseen the efficient management of passenger and freight services, ensuring customer satisfaction and revenue generation.
