Battle for the Pink Fort: KTR Challenges CM Revanth Ahead of Sircilla Public Meeting
RSD_SIRCILLA22: The political heat in Telangana has intensified ahead of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s proposed public meeting in Sircilla on September 30.
The meeting is being seen as part of Congress’s new action plan to target BRS strongholds. According to the plan, the CM will hold a massive public meeting in BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao’s own constituency Sircilla, followed by a meeting in Siddipet, the bastion of T. Harish Rao. Ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao, D. Sridhar Babu, and Ponnam Prabhakar are overseeing the mobilization for the Sircilla meeting.
Reacting sharply to the announcement, BRS Working President KTR questioned the purpose of the Chief Minister’s visit.
Speaking at the BRS party office in Sircilla, KTR asked, “Will you come to Sircilla and say that you have denied Rythu Bandhu three times? Will you say that you are the reason Sircilla weavers are once again forced towards suicides?”
KTR said Sircilla is a dharmic, karmika, and karshaka kshetram and alleged that the Congress government has already betrayed farmers, weavers, and workers.
“Sircilla was made a district by KCR. A town that did not even have a degree college was transformed into an education hub with a Medical College, Agriculture College, Agriculture Polytechnic, and JNTU Engineering College. What have you done for Sircilla in the last three years?” KTR asked.
He also demanded a white paper on the allegation made in the Assembly that 8,000 acres were encroached in Sircilla.
“Where are those 8,000 acres? In which village? What are the survey numbers? Who encroached? Release the names and details. If you cannot prove it, apologize to the people of Sircilla,” KTR challenged.
He added that merely raising one’s voice because one is in power does not make it the truth and that the CM must come before the people with evidence.
