Biometric operation in ration shop

RSD- Telangana news: The poor people do not face any difficulties during the rainy season, the supply of ration rice for 3 months has started as per the orders of the central government. Ration rice is being provided to the beneficiaries simultaneously for the months of June, July and August 2025. The situation is different in Telangana than in other states. Instead of good quality rice, the distribution of poor quality rice continues. Ration dealers have undertaken to supply rice amidst many difficulties. In Rajanna Sircilla district, the biometric problem is causing problems in the supply of ration provided by the central and state governments. With three months of rice being provided at once, the beneficiaries have to put their fingerprints on several times. There are 345 ration shops in the district, and there are 1,77,851 ration cards. This includes 13,748 Antyodaya cards, 1,63,900 food security cards, and 203 Antyodaya Annayojana cards. There are 5,35,920 beneficiaries under these. Of these, 37,389 are Antyodaya beneficiaries, 4,98,324 are food security beneficiaries, and 207 are Antyodaya Annayojana beneficiaries. The distribution of 98.59 lakh kg of rice for three months has started for them. Although rice has been distributed from the 1st of June 2025, fingerprints have to be taken multiple times for biometrics, for 5 kg of rice coming from the central government and 1 kg of rice coming from the state government. Three times for three months, and in some cases, fingerprints have to be taken six times for both central and state governments. Each user has to spend up to 20 minutes with biometrics. Moreover, the delay in taking fingerprints for the distribution of 10 kg, 20 kg and 30 kg rice and the server being busy is causing more problems. If there are two beneficiaries of 6 kg each, 12 kg will have to be given. Ration dealers say that fingerprints have to be taken once for 10 kg and once for 2 kg. On the other hand, while there is ration information for the month, there are also problems due to the distribution of rice for three months at once. It seems that the problems are being faced due to a software problem.
