Cases are registered if drunk driving causes accidents

RSD- Sircilla news: District SP Mahesh B. Gite IPS., said that in the last four months, 2161 drug addicts who were caught driving under the influence of alcohol were counseled in the presence of their family members at various police stations across the district and fines were imposed on them and 43 people were sentenced to imprisonment. He said that if a person causes an accident by driving under the influence of alcohol, cases will be registered against them, and that drink and drive tests and vehicle inspections will be conducted every day in every police station in the district. The driving licenses of those caught drinking and driving will be taken away and the relevant transport department officials will be recommended to cancel their licenses. He said that in addition to conducting regular drink and drive tests with the aim of preventing road accidents, traffic rules and road awareness programs are being conducted. He also warned that if minors are caught driving, their parents should be held responsible. He urged motorists to cooperate with the police by following the road rules. The police department will explain through counseling that drunk driving is not a cause of accidents and that it can ruin the family’s financial situation. Those caught will be presented in court for counseling in the presence of their family members. Those caught drinking alcohol for the first time and those caught for the second time will be punished according to the amount of alcohol consumed. He said that not only will they take strict action against traffic control and drunk drivers, but they will also be given continuous counseling and suggestions, and they will also go to schools and colleges to explain the rules to be followed by students.
