Employment with Indira Mahila Shakti sarees

RSD- Sircilla news: On the orders of the state government and CM Revanth Reddy, providing employment to the workers of the Sircilla textile industry with the production of Indira Mahila Shakti sarees, said Government Whip, Vemulawada MLA Adi Srinivas. Government Whip and Vemulawada MLA Adi Srinivas, Handloom Textiles and Endowments Department Principal Secretary Shailaja Ramaiyar, Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha and officials inspected the saree production process at the Mamidala Narayana and Konda Subhash weaving units in Ganesh Nagar, Sircilla on 17.06.2025. On this occasion, they spoke to the workers. The Principal Secretary and Collector spoke to Vemula Srinivas, Mukul Srinivas and other workers. How many meters of sarees are produced every day? How much income do they get per week? They asked. They inquired about any difficulties they are facing in the production of sarees. The workers brought to their attention that they get an income of Rs. 4000 to 5000 per week. Later, Government Whip and Vemulawada MLA Adi Srinivas spoke. He said that the state government will take all measures to provide ample work for the development of the Sircilla textile industry and to support the workers. CM Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, Handloom and Textile Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Sridhar Babu explained that they have paid special attention to the development of the Sircilla textile industry. As part of this, they said that orders for the production of sarees under Indira Mahila Shakti have been given to the Sircilla textile industry. They revealed that the price has been fixed as per the demand of the workers and the Assamese. He said that the workers and the Assamese in the Sircilla textile industry will get employment for about 8 months with the Indira Mahila Shakti sarees. He reminded that the state government has paid the arrears of the previous Bathukamma sarees worth about Rs. 280 crore. He said that as part of the development of the Sircilla textile industry, a yarn bank has been set up in Vemulawada with Rs. 50 crore, fulfilling a decades-old dream. He said that all the yarn required for the Sircilla textile industry is being made available there. He said that orders from other government departments are being allocated to Sircilla. He made it clear that in the past, workers used to face difficulties due to lack of employment, but now they will have a lot of work. He hoped that the Assamese and workers should take advantage of the orders provided by the state government and grow. He assured that the issue of back billing under the CESS scope is within the jurisdiction of the court and a decision will be taken soon in discussion with the state government, the Chief Minister and other ministers. On this occasion, Shailaja Ramaiah, Principal Secretary, Handloom Textiles and Endowments Department, spoke. It is said that all the orders required for the Sircilla textile industry are being provided on behalf of the state government. The workers will get an income of Rs. 4000 to 5000 every week and suggested that those who have received orders for Indira Women’s Shakti sarees from the state government should complete the first saree production as soon as possible and hand it over. After that they should prepare for the second saree order and hoped to take advantage of the state government’s cooperation and achieve further development.
