Life imprisonment for wife in husband’s murder case

RSD- Sircilla news: A man named Daransoth Shankar Nayak s/o Ram Nayak age 55 y of Mustabad mandal has two wives. His first wife Daransoth Saroja is not having children. He married another woman named Rajvva for the second time. They had two daughters and a son. Since then, Daramsoth Saroja, the first wife, had been harboring a grudge against them and had been fighting with them. Fearing that he would leave all their property to his second wife and their children, on 28.11.2020, at 1 pm, when no one was at home, Saroja, her younger brother Bhanothu Srinivas and younger sister Tejawat Lakshmi were summoned and their husband Shankar Nayak was drugged and beaten to death with a broomstick. In this case, based on the complaint of the second wife, Rajvva, the then Sircilla Rural CI Sarvar registered a case and sent the accused to remand. Later, CI Upender investigated the case and filed a charge sheet in the court. Under the supervision of court monitoring SI Ravindra Naidu, court constables Devender and Rajender, and CMS constable Naveen presented 15 witnesses in the court, while Public Prosecutor Penta Srinivas argued on behalf of the prosecution. After examining the antecedents of the case, the judge found the crime proven and sentenced the three accused, A1- Daransoth Saroja, A2- Bhanothu Srinivasu, and A3- Tejavat Lakshmi, to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 2000 each. On this occasion, the SP said that, no one who commits a crime in the society can escape punishment, and only punishments can bring about change in the society, and the police and prosecution should conduct a strategic investigation and ensure that the accused are punished. The District SP congratulated the then investigating officers Sarvar, Upender, current CI Mogili, SI Ganesh, Public Prosecutor Penta Srinivas, Court Monitoring SI Ravindra Naidu, Court Constables Devender, Rajender, and CMS Constable Naveen for their efforts in getting the accused punished in the case.
