Strict action for medicines sold without doctor’s prescription, ASP Seshadrini Reddy

RSD- Vemulawada news: A case has been registered against the medical shop owner who sold abortion drugs to a minor girl and remanded, Vemulawada ASP Seshadrini Reddy said. A statement was issued to this effect on 15.07.2025. According to the details given by them, a young man from Siricilla physically abused a minor girl in the name of love and marriage. When the girl got pregnant, he approached Nalla Shankar, the owner of Geetanjali Medical Shop in Siricilla town, and asked him to give the minor girl medicines to abort the pregnancy. The owner of the Geetanjali shop gave the medicines to abort the pregnancy without any doctor’s prescription against the law, and the minor girl who took such medicines suffered a miscarriage. A case was registered on this matter and the young man was arrested on May 30th 2025 and remanded. And the owner of the Geetanjali Medical Shop, Nalla Shankar, who gave the medicines to abort the pregnancy to the minor girl against the law, was remanded on 12-07-2025. Speaking on this occasion, the ASP warned that strict action will be taken against any medical shop operator who sells medicines without a doctor’s prescription and against the law. He said that while selling medicines, the operators must follow government regulations and that those who sell medicines without a doctor’s prescription and play with the health of the people will not be ignored.
