RSD- Sircilla news: District Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha has ordered the relevant officials to take strong measures to prevent infant mortality in government hospitals. On 25.11.2024, District Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha held a review of infant mortality in the district hospital with relevant officials at the Integrated District Collectorate in the year 2024-25. The Collector inquired about the deliveries taking place at Rajannasiricilla District Hospital and the reasons for the recent infant deaths, case by case. District Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha said that a medical college general hospital has been established in Sircilla district, new doctors have been appointed, the government has provided the necessary modern equipment, and the collector said that strong steps should be taken to prevent infant deaths in our government hospitals. He said that ANC registration of pregnant women should be made 100 percent, and that ANC check-up should be mandatory for every pregnant woman. The collector warned that the government pays special attention to the welfare of pregnant women and that even the slightest negligence will not be tolerated and that strict action will be taken if there is negligence. The collector said that infant deaths should be reduced as much as possible in the district in the future, critical cases should be identified early and special treatment should be provided to them, ANMs and ASHA workers should follow up with pregnant women at the field level, and regular use of medicines and nutritious food should be monitored. The Collector suggested that cases close to delivery should be identified and followed up daily, critical cases should be shifted to the hospital immediately, and officials should work to instill confidence in the public towards government healthcare. The review meeting was attended by District Medical and Health Officer, Vasantha Rao, D.W.O. Lakmi Rajam, Medical Superintendents Penchalayya, Lakshmi Narayana, program officers, medical officers, concerned officials, and others.
