Workers should overcome sleep problems says Psychologist K. Punnamchander

RSD- Sircilla news: Leading psychologist K. Punnamchander organized a mental development conference for power loom workers in Sundarayya Nagar under Mind Care and Counseling Center, Government General Hospital. The workers discussed mental health, lifestyle and the importance of sleep. Speaking on the occasion, Punnamchander said that Power loom workers suffer from insomnia due to daily hard physical labor and uncertain lifestyle. This can lead to problems like anxiety, depression, physical fatigue, blood pressure and diabetes. If ignored, sleep problems can lead to long-term health problems, he explained to the workers. Explaining the problems caused by insomnia, he said that physical fatigue, decreased performance, mental anxiety and irritability increase. He said that there is a risk of heart diseases and diabetes in the long run. He said that it has a negative impact on family relationships and social lifestyle. Explaining the precautions to be taken to overcome sleep problems, they should go to bed and wake up at the same time every day. The workers were advised to reduce the use of mobile and TV before sleeping. They were advised to do spiritual practices and breathing exercises. They were asked to avoid substances like coffee, tea, and alcohol at night. Good sleep is the foundation of good health. If workers adopt a regular lifestyle, they will be physically and mentally healthy,” they encouraged the workers. Stating that the Mind Care and Counseling Center has been set up by the government for the welfare of the workers, they asked the workers to come for counseling help to reduce anxiety and stress. The staff of the Mind Care and Counseling Center, Konda Uma, Boora Srimati, Rapelli Latha and the workers participated in this program.
