Government schemes should be utilized
RSD-Sircilla news: On 18.03.2025, renowned psychologist K. Punnamchander organized a mental development seminar for power loom workers under the Mind Care and Counseling Center, Government General Hospital. Speaking on the occasion, Punnamchander said that the workers should utilize the welfare schemes provided by the government and should develop. He said that the government is implementing a special scheme for the manufacture of Mahila Shakti sarees to provide continuous employment to power loom workers. He said that a yarn depot is being set up for the employers and owners of the textile industry and is providing support by providing yarn on subsidy. He said that workers should give high priority to mental and physical health. He said that smoking and alcohol consumption are the causes of many types of mental disorders. He advised the workers to reduce bad habits as much as possible. He said that the government has set up a Mind Care and Counseling Center to solve the mental problems of workers. He asked the workers in need to contact them directly. Maramaggala industrialist Dusa Prasad, Mind Care staff Vemula Annapurna, Rapelli Latha, Konda Uma, and Boora Srimati participated in this program.
