RSD- Sircilla news: A review meeting of the Road Safety Committee was held on 13.01.2026 at the District Integrated Offices Complex, chaired by the Road Safety Committee Chairperson and In-charge Collector Garima Agarwal.  Officials from R&B, National Highways, PR, Police, Transport, Medical, Excise, Education, RTC, and other departments participated in the meeting. Initially, a review was conducted on the issues discussed during the Road Safety Committee meeting held December 2025. She inquired about the field inspection jointly conducted by the Transport, R&B, National Highways, and Police departments. She directed the officials to prepare a detailed plan for rumble strips, solar signals, signboards, road repairs, and connecting roads at the identified black spots on the Siddipet National Highway, Vemulawada-Korutla route, Karimnagar-Kamareddy route, and Siricilla-Karimnagar route, and to present the details of the development works in the next meeting. She also instructed the officials of the respective departments to prepare proposals for the installation of speed guns and CCTV cameras on these highways and to review the existing ones. In-charge Collector Garima Agarwal ordered that the ‘No Helmet… No Petrol’ rule must be strictly implemented at all petrol pumps in the district, and flex banners should be installed to create awareness among two-wheeler riders. The In-charge Collector called upon every petrol pump owner to make this a success as a social responsibility. He clarified that two-wheeler riders account for the majority of deaths and injuries in road accidents. He advised them to wear helmets without fail for their own safety and the safety of their families. The In-charge Collector instructed the transport department officials to inspect autos and buses that are carrying students and passengers beyond their capacity, and to focus on goods vehicles that are overloaded. He also reviewed the Rahveer financial assistance program for providing emergency medical facilities to road accident victims and for those who transport the injured to hospitals to save their lives. On the occasion of the National Road Safety Month, SP Mahesh B Gite stated that the ‘Arrive… Alive’ program launched by the state government will be implemented in the district for 10 days. As part of this, he explained that essay writing, quiz, and other competitions will be conducted for students and youth to create awareness about traffic rules and road safety regulations. He instructed the municipal officials to remove encroachments on the main roads in Sircilla and Vemulawada. He also stated that barricades would be installed at black spots and other congested areas.
