Rajanna Sircilla : Married Woman Dies by Suicide Alleging Dowry Harassment
Sircilla (RSD): A tragic incident was reported from Bavusaipet village in Konaraopet mandal, where a married woman allegedly died by suicide due to additional dowry harassment.
The deceased has been identified as Gente Renu (32). She was found hanging from a beam with a saree at her residence.
According to the complaint lodged by her sister Gaddam Mamatha, Renu was married to Gente Prashanth 15 years ago in the presence of elders. For the past four months, her husband Prashanth, along with her mother-in-law Komuravva and sister-in-law Padma, had been severely harassing her demanding additional dowry. Unable to bear the harassment, she took the extreme step, the complaint stated.
Based on the complaint, SI B. Rammohan registered a case. CI K. Ravinder visited the spot and intensified the investigation.
