Working Journalists Take to Streets for Health Security

TUWJ, TEMJU Leaders Send Postcards to CM Revanth Reddy Demanding Cashless Health Cards

RSD_Rajanna Sircilla: Demanding immediate issuance of cashless health cards for all eligible journalists, the Rajanna Sircilla district committees of Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ H-143) and Telangana Electronic Media Journalists Union (TEMJU) staged a postcard campaign in Sircilla on Friday.

On the call of State President Allam Narayana and General Secretary Maruthi Sagar, the campaign was led by State Vice President and District President Syed Layak Pasha.

Marking Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, journalists garlanded the Gandhi statue in Sircilla town and paid tributes. Later, in front of the statue, they raised slogans demanding immediate sanction of health cards and urged the government to give top priority to medical needs of journalists and their families.

They then reached Sircilla Head Post Office and sent postcards to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy with the main demand – “Cashless health cards should be issued immediately to all eligible journalists”.

Leaders said keeping in view the pressures and risks faced by journalists in duty, the government should take strong measures for their health security and ensure cashless medical services in hospitals without any cash payment, covering family members as well. They also urged the government to resolve pending welfare issues of journalists.

District General Secretary Samala Gattu, Vice President Prasad Reddy, Anil Rao, Parashuram, Kantala Vijay, Town President Praveen, General Secretary Raghuveer, Mallik, Kashi, Tangallapalli Press Club President Srinivas, Vemulawada Press Club President Narsaiah, General Secretary Syed Ali, Fahad Pasha, Imran, Nayeem, Balaraju, Babu, Saleem, Nagaraju, Aslam and mandal in-charges participated.
