Municipal workers dharna

RSD- Sircilla news: As part of the call of Municipal Workers & Employees Union CITU state committee, a petition was presented on 24.09.2024 along with Sircilla Municipal Commissioner, with several demands to resolve pending PF and ESI issues and provide PRC arrears to the municipal workers, to provide them with a minimum wage of 26 thousand rupees on a permanent basis, to provide an accident insurance facility of 25 lakhs. On this occasion CITU District Secretary Kodam Ramana and Municipal Workers Union District Secretary Gurram Ashok said that the Supreme Court has ruled that the government is neglecting the problems of the municipal workers who have been working for many years in the sewage without considering their health in order to keep the cities green and clean. They also complained that the workers were being exploited without implementing the minimum wages. The officials said that the workers are facing many problems locally in Sircilla Municipality and they are neglecting to meet the concerned authorities many times to solve the problems. Even now, the government should respond immediately and take steps to solve the problems of the municipal workers. On September 25th 2024, at 11 a.m. in front of the district collector’s office, a large-scale dharna program will be held with the municipal workers. All the workers working in Sircilla and Vemulawada Municipalities have been called upon to finish their work by 10 am on 25.09.2024 and come to the collector’s office to participate in the dharna and make the program a success. Municipal Workers President Sultan Narsaiah, Rajaiah, Devaiah, Srinivas, Balaiah, Lakshmi municipal workers participated in this program.
