Stop Harassing Poor Farmers – BJP Warns of Mass Agitation Over Marripally Land Issue
RSD_Vemulawada: BJP Vemulawada Rural Mandal President Burugupally Paramesh has demanded that the Congress government immediately stop attempts to acquire 200 acres of farmland belonging to poor farmers in Marripally village.Addressing the media, Paramesh said the land in Sy. No. 748 was assigned to poor and middle-class families in 1970 during Indira Gandhi’s rule and has been cultivated by them for generations.He alleged that during the BRS regime, the government tried to take the land for a dairy project, which was opposed by farmers. At that time, present Vemulawada MLA Aadi Srinivas had supported the farmers’ agitation.”Now after becoming Congress MLA, he is trying to take the same lands. This is unfortunate and an attack on poor farmers’ livelihood,” Paramesh said.He demanded that MLA Aadi Srinivas meet the affected farmers immediately and ensure justice.He warned that BJP will launch massive public agitations if the acquisition is not stopped.BJP leaders Thota Shekar, Lingampally Kuntaiah, Gummadi Srinivas, Lakkam Tirupathi, Sagarla Naresh, Maram Rajender and villagers participated.
