14.945 kg cannabis burnt under District Drug Disposal Committee supervision

RSD-Sircilla news: 14.945 kg of banned cannabis seized from the accused in 45 cases registered in various police stations across the district was burnt through incineration process under the District Drug Disposal Committee in accordance with the NDPS Act, following the environmental pollution control norms. Speaking on this occasion, the SP said that unregistered cannabis was burnt in several police stations in the district as per the rules and regulations of the NDPS Act, and that the police are effectively preventing the transportation of cannabis in the district, and warned that strict action will be taken against those who transported, sold and consumed intoxicants like cannabis. He said that awareness programs are being conducted among the people in colleges and schools regarding the ill effects of drug use in the district, and that extensive checks are being carried out with narcotics squads to keep a constant watch on the illegal transportation of marijuana. The District SP said that if anyone comes to know that someone is supplying marijuana, drugs, and other intoxicants, they should inform the police. The SP was accompanied by Sircilla DSP Chandrasekhar Reddy, DCRB CI Nageswara Rao, RSI Raju, and staff.
